Day 9 - Second day in Umeå

Umeå University

Today was more of a low-key kind of day. We did not really do much today. We got up in the morning and walked around campus (Umeå University) to get a feel of the university. Plus we went to find the classroom where I will be having class the rest of this week! Class starts tomorrow learning about the Swedish classrooms! I am really excited to learn about what it is going to be like teaching in the schools.

After we walked around campus, we walked for about 30 minutes to downtown Umeå. We went into a few shops, not many though because we are going to be here for about 5 weeks, we just wanted to see what the city was like. Then we walked all the way back to campus. Some of us hung out in the rooms, went grocery shopping, and started reading our homework that we needed to have finished by tomorrow. Lennart, also stopped by to bring a computer to one of the girls traveling with us. They do not have wireless here, so she is waiting for her computer to be shipped from the U.S. to Umeå.

As I said before, we start classes so it is going to be an early night for me. But I cannot wait to share what I am learning about the Swedish classroom with you!
